To utilize both the playfield and the backglass, you’ll need a solution that provides two HDMI output ports for the Steam Deck. VIBS stands for Video Input Backglass Switchboard, which is yet another HDMI connection to allow displaying video content from a PC, or in our case the Steam Deck, on the backglass. Additionally, if you want to utilize the backglass on the ALP, you’ll need what is called the VIBS board installed in the ALP.

The AtGames Legends Pinball has an impressive feature called OTG or On- The- Go which is simply a USB-A and HDMI connection to the PC (or Steam Deck in our case). See if they all work, even if they layout is retarded.Sandtrooper playing Episode V with the Steam Deck (ok, just kind of holding it) Then, even if it is awkward as hell, set VPX to use those buttons Run it once, load any game, hit TAB, pick input for all games, and do a quick remap, and done.Īs a test, note down what buttons on your cab equate to the buttons on controller 1 MAME, since it input scans, simply does not care. Then it will simply work, for both VPX and FP I would simply sort the buttons so that all the buttons you would want to use for pinball are from the controller 1 side (LEFT if USB port is UP) of the board. Since the controller presents itself as 2 game pads, and VPX only looks at game controller 1 (or which ever one you set to use as default for older programs) The flippers will be connected to the digital plunger (Zeb's) board.

Or worst case, I move the buttons around then just update the mame button mappings. player 1 button to start the tables is on another button that works. or I may just use the buttons that are working and just deal with them not being where I would like. May need to consider swapping out the board then and using more of a keyboard encoder type board. If you got one of the fake XinMo boards, then i have no idea The diagram on the website shows controller 1's inputs being all on the left side of the controller board.Īnd the controller does not emulate keyboard input at all. The board emulates 2 game pads, of which VPX is only going to look at controller 1 and not controller 2, so you can only use buttons on controller 1 If your left flipper is Button 1 -> map button 1 to your Left flipperĪccording to the manufacturers website, if you bought a Real XinMoTec board, then NO keyboard keys equate to anything on the board One you have this button number map it to your Visual Pinball Press a button and the button number will light up.

If your Xin MO is a Joystick Encoder -> you need to figure out the JOY Button Numbers Its better to remap keys in your Encoder so that it uses the default keyboard keys !!!!! Note that some keys are hard coded into Visual Pinball if you like to change them you will have to change your VMPkeys.vbs file. When you have the Key -> map it to your Visual Pinball If your Xin Mo is a Keyboard Encoder -> Open up note pad -> press a button and the key should be typed into note pad. The VP codes are for you to create a VIsual Basic script or to edit your VPMkeys.vbs file. Why don't you post screen shots of what you have done and what windows does with your joystick Then I could use the key codes page to figure out what to enter:

I really need to know behind the scenes what keyboard code each button corresponds to. But I have not been able to find a proper mapping guide for this board.

If only I knew how to determine which keyboard key each button corresponds to on the xin mo board then I could input those keys. Anyone else have this issue? I really don't want to add more buttons just for pinball. Yet they all work perfectly fine in MAME. But still some of the buttons don't register anything in the mapping screen. The xin mo board shows in windows twice since it's a 2 player.
